MY BACKGROUND

Manufacturing engineer recognized for expertise in new build, overhaul and production management of specialized high-tech forging equipment and hot forged products. An expert in quality control, continuous improvement and remediation of problems with complex machines. Regarded as a critical thinker with deep skills to quickly correct issues that result in final resolution, increase uptime and improvement of production processes.

    • Led over 150 major machine overhauls of Hateburs, $15M precision high-tech forging machines 
    • Developed and implemented a preventive maintenance program for all forging equipment, including technical training for production employees, and mentored new press operators, maintenance technicians and supervisors
    • Hands on experience in engineering of various tool steel types, material applications, hardness, coatings and processing of large machine components to increase life expectancy and machine uptime
    • Maintained, developed and updated equipment documentation and procedures such as prints, manuals, layouts, monthly inspection and overhaul data for machines
    • Purchase all major machine components from OEM and reverse engineer components to reduce cost by sourcing locally with other qualified suppliers 
    • Experienced in frame repairs, hand scrapping bushings, replacement of main gears, gear clearances, axial play of drive shafts, bushing/bearing clearances, honing, Woerner lubrication systems, and lube/hydraulic line bending 
    • Detailed understanding of machine inspection protocols, equipment datum points, field machining of forging equipment, including set-up, operation and validation to increase uptime and reliability of equipment
