It may seem like this topic is a little off-topic for a blog about home inspections, but we want to be helpful wherever we can. Since the pandemic began, nearly everything has gotten more expensive. Perhaps one of the areas where this is most evident is in most people’s monthly grocery expenses. Is there anything you can do to help lower the cost of groceries? Yes! Here are a couple of tips.
Don’t be overly picky. It can help to be flexible with the brands you buy or the stores you shop at. For example, many store brand products are just the same or, in some cases, better than more popular brands. Discount chains also offer deep discounts, but may sell goods that are close to their expiration date.
Make smart choices. Is it possible to buy more “staple” items like rice, beans, or other products that won’t go bad before you can use them? Can you spend a little planning time to find out which stores have sales before you go shopping?
