We’ve spent some time in the past couple of months talking quite a bit about lawn care and pests. For this post, we’ll talk about a related topic – pesticides. Many homeowners choose to use pesticides to kill weeds, plants, bugs, or rodents that have become a nuisance on their property. While this is very commonplace, common sense tells us that if this stuff is designed to kill things, there’s a good chance that it can be harmful to us.
It’s true, pesticides can likely be dangerous if inhaled or absorbed through the skin. For that reason, it’s probably a good idea to wear long sleeves, a face mask, or other protective clothing like gloves or safety glasses when using pesticides. On a similar note, it’s important to keep these products in a locked or out of reach area in order to keep children or others from misusing them. Thinking about things like these can help keep you safe when using pesticides.
