As the summer days heat up, there is a never-ending routine that many homeowners find to be either relaxing or irritating – mowing the grass. When a lawn is not maintained very well, it can stand out in the neighborhood very easily.
For example, overgrown grass is often the first thing that’s noticed when walking by a home. Besides being unsightly, it can be a home for unwanted insects, rodents, or snakes. It also gives the appearance of a vacant house, which is not good for many reasons.
However, grass that is too short is easy to spot, as well. When grass is cut short, it will grow shallower roots, leading to dry or dead patches when any kind of sun or heat comes.
For those reasons, if you’re looking to keep a healthy lawn, there is really no substitute for regularly mowing the grass to a reasonable height, giving it fertilizer and moderate watering when needed.
